Introduction

This guide will walk you through the process of becoming a collator.

If you've already set up collators on the v1 (collator-staking.darwinia.network), please be aware that they will not automatically migrate to v2 (collator-staking.ringdao.com). To continue participating as a collator in v2, you’ll need to manually migrate your setup. For detailed instructions, refer to the Collator Migration Guide.

Step1: Start your collator node

Before proceeding, ensure that your collator node is up and running. Follow the steps in the official Running a Collator Node guide.

Once your node has finished syncing, ensure that it is still running.
Navigate to collator-staking.ringdao.com and ensure your wallet is connected.
Once connected, click the Join Collator button at the bottom right corner of the page.

Enter the session key that was generated earlier and click on Set Session Key to prompt the wallet for submitting an Ethereum transaction.
Enter the commission and click Create Nomination Pool & Collate. You will be prompted to sign a transaction. Once the transaction is confirmed, you will receive a notification, and you can view your collator details on your dashboard.

To confirm your account's inclusion in the active or waiting collator pool, click on the New Stake > Select a collator.

Also, you can manage your collator settings and view additional details on your collator dashboard.
